- fallingstar, a JC student, is doing a project on Traditional Games in Singapore.
my group members and I would really appreciate it if you could spare us some time and aid us in this project. We would like to find out about how Singapore is promoting traditional games to the people of today and where we can find more information about them.
- Vanessa is trying to uncover the mystery of John Bath
On 39C Dempsey Road stands a medieval church that is unused. There is a marble fountain that has been removed and there are words written on the floor in front of the fountain “In Memory of John Bath, a little boy who died in 1944″ I have searched the internet about the church and John Bath. I would like to know about the church and the story of John Bath, who is he and how he died and why is he so special to have a fountain to commemorate him and where is the fountain now?
- Linda is seeking the kindergarten of her past
I am particularly interested in obtaining the name and address of a kindergarten which I attended around Newton Circus around 1967 or ’68. The school uniform is a light-green with thin plaid lines and I believe it was a Christian or missionary kindergarten. Would you be able to assist me with this information? How long was the school in existence? Also, if it has been torn down, what is there today?

wrt to fallingstar’s query:
There’s an exhibition called “Kampong Spirit, Kampong Fun” at Millenia Walk’s Great Hall running till 23rd July (12-8pm) on traditional games.

You can also check out the Sports Museum in Kallang. It features some exhibits on traditional games.

Guess these exhibitions are kinda how S’pore still promotes traditional games? Haha..
Hope this helps

A lot of it is happening in schools too. Through traditional games corners, NE galleries, and events. Unfortunately if you are looking for pictures you are limited to those on the archives. There are no games like zeropoint also, that’s for sure.
