How many old places can you identify?

Posted by noelbynature

If you haven’t done some already, today’s a great day to sit in front of your computer and time-travel back to 1938 and see the Singapore of your grandparents, or maybe even your great-grandparents. We’ve featured this video earlier this week, but how many buildings and monuments can you identify?

Singapore, Crossroads of the East

Seen This Scene That comments:

For old places and buildings to remain standing after 71 years and more, despite the constant makeover of our little island, they richly deserve publicity and fame.

What impressed me about this film were the many famous old places of Singapore shown in the film that are still standing today. As a comparison, how many of you live in properties that are older than 71 years?

I wonder if anyone would like to take up a challenge of filming a video in the style of Crossroads of the East about your neighbourhood for future generations. If you decide to film Ang Mo Kio – Crossroads of the north – don’t forget to share it with us here ;)
