How much of the Singapore geography has changed? You only need to take a look at our street directories to see how much new roads have changed the landscape. Laokokok shows us some of old street directories that he recently found.

Below are the oldest copies of the Singapore Street Directory I have in my house…until what I have found at my mother’s house at Haig Road on last Sunday. Ha I believed Peter and Chun See may even have older copies than this since they are at least 10yrs my senior. Frankly buying the Singapore Street Directory is like buying First Day Covers issues, every now and then new edition come out due to more new roads being built.

Heya,,
Thanks for your comments, but we don’t actually have the old street maps on hand. You can try searching our online archives, http://www.a2o.com.sg/a2o/public/html/ or even visiting the National Archives of Singapore as they also have information there which may be handy to you.

Hi, glad I found your website. I used to live in a defunct road named Lorong Banir, at Upper Thomson Road, opposite the Thong Soon Road. Can you send me the map indicating the old road?
