If you went for the big Peranakan Museum opening last month, you might’ve caught the impromptu Peranakan mini-dramas occurring throughout the museum. Royston Kwok, a young Peranakan involved behind the scenes in the wayang shares his thoughts about the new museum.

And when i walked about the museum, since i was wearing a batik shirt and there was a bunch of people doing this “drama in the museum” thing where they dress up in the Baba and Nyonya attire (Baju Lok Chuan and Baju Kebaya and Baju Panjang), so the public naturally mistook me as one of them… but i entertained them anyway… they came and ask me about the culture… how i got involved in MWC, ask things like what was my favourite food since food was a major thing in the Peranakan culture and heritage, and all sorts of that… it was quite… a pride that i can promote my culture like that.. (some of them were obviously peranakans but hey! its fun anyway…)
