19 films exploring both the physical and emotional landscape of Singapore are heading to the Sydney Film Festival for a series of openair screenings in the city’s CBD this June.

The 19 films were the top films selected by the jury of last year’s WHERE THE HEART IS film competition, which complemented the making of the CIVIC LIFE film, TIONG BAHRU, by directors Joe Lawlor and Christine Mollloy.

Dancing On Waterloo Street by David Stewart

Potong Pasir, Jurong East, the East Coast and Portsdown Road are just some of the places that make up this fascinating portrait, while these films feature such diverse subjects as dancers on Waterloo Street, the migrant worker community of Little India, and the repainting of an HDB estate.

More information about the Sydney screening, a screening of TIONG BAHRU in Melbourne, and a preview of some of the 19 films can be found here.
