Filmmakers Joe Lawlor and Christine Molloy are now back in the UK, working on the edit of TIONG BAHRU, a sweeping portrait of the iconic heritage estate. The film stars over 150 volunteers and was filmed over three days in June 2010. The rushes are back from the lab and they are stunning! We can’t wait to see the finished film.
In this interview, recorded at the Tiong Bahru market on the day after the shoot, Joe and Christine reflect on the past 18 months, the ideas behind the CIVIC LIFE series, the experience of shooting the film and working with a cast of over 150 volunteers.
There is also word of our microshort film competition, just launched, which could see your film playing alongside TIONG BAHRU, when it screens at the National Museum, and maybe even going to the UK’s leading short film festival in October!
Snippets from the film will be coming shortly.
In the meantime, enjoy the interview!
