Stumbled on this website, the prizes did the rest…

Searching through the SgCool website, i was actually trying to find a valuable artefact such as gold or jade artefact. Finding none to be appealing to me, my interest soon led me to this artefact here.

Makes people wonder, did Buddha really step onto Singapore soil?

Actually, no. This artefact was from Bangkok, Thailand. So no sacred soil aroundin Singapore.

Yet, this artefact makes people wonder. This footprint represents Buddha in his human form, when he was once a mortal on Earth. So what was so interesting about this relic that made the Asian Civilisations Museum get it?

I believed that the museum was just trying to get more artefacts of each religion to better explain some of the religion’s beliefs.

This artefact explains why people pray in temples with bare feet. The artefact represents the path of Buddha and people wanting to respect it, bare their feet whenever they step into temples.

Thus came the origin of a religion’s beliefs. Just from a simple footprint. It wasn’t that simple to create a religion after all.
