Post No. 2!!! Well it’s a dragon, a golden one at that, used in puppetry. Looks so real it’s scary!

This dragon takes on the form of a traditional chinese dragon: long and with horns of a deer(?), scales of a fish etc. Now then, isn’t that just cool compared to Western Dragons? Well not always I guess. Whatever!

Chinese have always believed that dragons were regal and beautiful, not to mention AUSPICIOUS and LUCKY creatures. Therefore, everyone wanted one (or at least the image of one) so that they’ll have fortune flowing flowing in…

Dragons were sometimes depicted as evil creatures in stories who punished those who did wrong. The again, come to think of it, is it evil to punish evildoers? Oh well. For the most part though, dragons were good animals who blessed and helped people in need, bringing about showers to the farmers (for the plants!!! not a bath!!!) and basically brought luck wherever they went.

This little guy up there (see above picture) was probably quite a popular character in most of the puppet shows he acted in. A golden dragon would be especially lucky, as gold is a lucky object/colour too.

Now that you’ve read this, d’you think you want a dragon in your home too? I would…just as long as it doesn’t mess up my already perfect fengshui!
