War on Wheels is a hit!

Posted by ILoveMuseums

waronwheel_257x1881War on Wheels made its public debut on 14 November 2009 and was met with rave reviews!

The gloomy weather did nothing to dampen the spirits as participants gamely went on a six-hour trip back in time to war-torn Singapore. Visiting places such as Memories of Old Ford Factory, Kranji War Memorial and Reflections at Bukit Chandu, it was a heart-felt experience for many to simply acknowledge the bravery of many soldiers and civilians who died during the war.

One of the participants, Pat who’s in her twenties said it was “very educational” and she loved the how well-thought out the tour was. Another, Sze Yang Lim had a great time and felt it was “hands on and experiential”, not like anything he had seen before.

Listen in to what some of these participants had to say about this unique tour!

Interested to be part of this experience? There will be two more runs of this tour on 21 & 28 November ’09. Visit http://museums.com.sg/ for more details!

“Hi Mr. Guide-dude (sorry I didn’t get your name), Thanks so much for the great 6 hours and tour. It was very Interesting and insightful. Bet tons of effort went into it. History is always a good teacher for the future. Those who ignore history will likely to repeat the same mistakes. Thanks again.”  – Regards, AL

”I really liked your presentation and the idea of imagining ourselves back in 1942. It really made the harsh reality of war much more tangible and easier to understand and remember! “- Daniel Hwee

“I loved this War On Wheels tour program. It is inspiring and the tour guide is very knowledgeable and his briefing actually inspired me to want to know more of Singapore. I felt that the tour was a little rushed, and wouldn’t have minded a more thorough tour of the different locations. Hopefully, there will be a day-long or 2-day version in future! Keep up the great work. I hope to see more of these tours in future for our next generations!  A lot of the real happenings in Singapore were not known to us or rather we have no time to explore. This WOW tour is good and is affordable to many if one can’t afford to go for an overseas tour! Thanks for a wonderful and memorable tour. I will never forget the experience.” - Jen Goh

“Very well planned and real value for money! Most importantly, I have learnt more about our war history. Circumstances then and now may have changed but humanity, how people behave in trying times don’t. Hence, it has been an enriching and wonderful journey.” - War on Wheels Fan
