Posted by noelbynature

On this day 63 years ago, Fortress Singapore fell to Japanese forces led by General Tomoyuki Yamashita. The Japanese occupied Singapore until 1945.

The National Archives of Singapore has prepared an ongoing week of activities and events to remember this dark day in our history, in conjunction with Total Defence Day. Enjoy free entry to Reflections at Bukit Chandu today (15 Feb) and to Memories at Old Ford Factory tomorrow (16 Feb). The NAS will also be launching their Oral History Manual at the Old Ford Factory.
