Celebrating our Asian roots

Posted by vivianeee

Friday’s here, and it’s TGIF planning! Before Zoukout hits us the next weekend, here’s more coming up for the next two days. And the best thing? It’s free! (well, almost – $2 for museum admission + magic show + dessert galore + Dikir Barat + more…..)

Fans of Jack and Rai of EIC will be in for a real treat at the Wrap! Festival this Sunday!

Masak Masak with Chef Khaled tomorrow (Saturday) at 11am gives you a free breakfast-lunch date indulging in traditional Malay dishes like Botok-botok Ikan, Bubor Terigu and the spicy Sambal Tumis Udang. Just turn up with an empty stomach at the Malay Heritage Centre!

Or you can fight the calories with celebrity Wushu champion Vincent Ng (also Saturday, 11am) and pick up some kick-ass moves in his self-defence workshop. Refreshments and a guided tour of the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery are also complimentary!

And since the following Monday is a public holiday, head down for another Asian-centric event at the Asian Civilisation Museum for the Wrap! Festival this Sunday, 1pm – 7pm. Only $2 to visit the galleries, catch a magic show, thump along with Dikir Barat, sing along with musical duo EIC, snack on yummy dessert, and watch free performances by Korean group Nanta!

Wonder what magician Jeremy Pei has up his sleeves? Catch him at the Wrap! Festival this Sunday!

Bring your young ones along for their fill of face painting, balloon sculpting, bouncing castle…there’s no shortage of things to do this Sunday. See you there!
