Think Japanese media and what do you get? Manga, Nintendo and Anime! So it’s not hard to see the attraction for the NTU Comics Ensemble, who visited the Japanese Media Arts festival at the SAM last week.

At the back of a room, we saw a figure of somthing labelled as archangel. It was done by Keishi. It featured a huge angel-like monster with frogs and symbols around it, looking down at a small girl. Quite an eye-opener. The person from SAM said that the inspiration may have come from christianity with the cross on its staff and from the idea of gods since frogs and words like sky were embedded onto the body. But well to me, i still find it lookin like a Level 4 Akuma from Dgrayman. lol. The face, the wings and the frogs around feel like Dgrayman akuma to me no matter from which angle. Maybe thats why the idea of the akuma look came from- the archangel. Anyway it will be good to take a look to see what you feel it looks like. And the person will also talk about other drawings and models from other artists that are related to robots etc.
Read on the NTUC Comics Ensemble blog to find out what they thought about the Japanese Media Arts festival. (You can also read Claudia’s review here). The festival is on until December 14, which is the end of this week, so do drop by while you have the chance!
